What the Court Decided This Week

The Coroner’s Court sitting at the Igbosere Magistrate Court on Lagos Island adjourned the Chimamanda Adichie’s son’s death case to 8 October 2026.

The adjournment of the case was because a senior multi-specialist named Prof. Taiwo Osipitan told the Coroner’s court that the Lagos state High court had put a pause on probing deeper into the death of the 21-month-old boy as the Euracare hospital filed a review application on the matter.

Justice A.O. Opesanwo issued the order following an application filed by Eurapharma Care Services Nigeria Limited, operators of the Victoria Island hospital, where the child reportedly died on January 7 2026. The court granted Euracare Hospital 14 days to file its substantive judicial review application. The matter has been adjourned until June 9, 2026, when parties are expected to return to the High Court for further proceedings.
